Matt and Asia are two video game-loving and board game-playing nerds from Sacramento, CA. Also, they are married. The story of their romance and dorkiness emerged onto the internet after Matt proposed to Asia at MineCon in November, 2011.  They were married on April 22nd 2012, and one month later pictures of their Minecraft-themed wedding started to spread far and wide across the web and beyond.

Matt and Asia both share the same passions for gaming in any form, from Pokemon to Munchkin to Star Wars Old Republic. They love trying out new board games, card games, and of course, console and PC games.

Oh yes, and they also play Minecraft.

One of the most common comments seen on news posts about their wedding can be paraphrased as follows:

“ZOMG! NeRdy pEeeples can B marrieD and AttRaktive!?”

No, they are not still virgins. No, they don’t live in their mom’s basement. They created this site as a way to express themselves as part of a growing group of people in the world: “cool nerds”. That’s right, Matt and Asia enjoy a normal social life, get outside more than once a month, and they also like games. They have grown tired of stereotypes that say nerdy people are hopeless when it comes to love, relationships, or any other social aspects of life. On top of that, Matt and Asia are living proof that it is possible to be truly happy in holy matrimony. Seriously, if you hung out with these two for a day, you would probably get sick from all the love flying around.

If your curious about their jobs, Matt works for Apple as an internal training developer/instructor, and Asia is a full-time wife who’s on the look out for future job opportunities. Matt is also a senior editor for TouchGen.com where he writes articles and reviews for iOS games on a regular basis. In addition, he has produced a bunch of videos for Machinima.com, including the YouTube series Master Chief Theater 3000, that can be found at Pyrosmile.org. Finally, he is the founder of HaloBabies.net, an online Halo web comic that, during it’s prime, was a leading gaming art community on the web.

So what’s in store for HMN? Be sure to check out our first blog post for details. In short, we plan on regularly updating this site with game reviews of all kinds, random photos, quirky stories, silly text conversations, and many other parts of our lives as we start this journey together. We would eventually love to feature content from fellow happily married nerds around the globe!

“If you have a passion for games, life, and love like we do, let us know! Make your voice heard! Most importantly, if you’re a happily married nerd, it’s time to make yourself known. Be proud of who you are and what you’ve accomplished!”
